Art of Animation Resort’s Final phase opens today – The Little Mermaid Wing!
Disney News: Ariel opens up her underwater world September 15th!
Step “Under the Sea” with Ariel as the final phase of the Art of Animation resort opens today! Given that the “The Little Mermaid” wing is based on one of the most popular animated films that Disney has released, we think they saved the best for last!
The Courtyard and Details
Details from the beloved animation film are everywhere, from lines of fish along the edge of the resort, to favorite characters appear larger-than-life: King Triton, the Prince, Ursula with Flotsam and Jetsam and of course, Ariel and Flounder. Even Sebastian is tall! As you wander the property you’ll also see many of Ariel’s collections are scattered about, from a big teapot to a treasure chest with coins and a pearl necklace. The highlight is the gigantic Ariel and Flounder statue that overlooks the courtyard and the Flippin’ Fins pool. In total there are 3 themed courtyards all featuring water themes – a pool, poolside bar, and a water play area.
Rooms under the sea!
Step inside a “The Little Mermaid” room, and you’re deep under the sea. The aquatic motif is present throughout the rooms, from bubbles and seahorses that rise from the headboard to colorful fish and seashell lights that surround the mirror. Look for starfish on the carpet and bedspreads, sand dollars on the tables and chairbacks that are seashell shaped. Ariel holds an hourglass on the shower curtains while clamshell lights highlight the mirror. This is the only resort at the Art of Animation that doesn’t have family suites like The Lion King, Cars and Finding Nemo does, but the detail in the rooms is terrific and at a price of $94, you can’t go wrong if you’re looking to sleep four on a budget.
